Medicare 101:

Understanding the Basics

Medicare is made up of different parts, each designed to cover specific healthcare needs:

  • Original Medicare (Part A & Part B)
Hospital and medical coverage provided by the federal government.

  • Medicare Advantage (Part C)
Offered by private insurance companies and may include hospital, medical, and prescription coverage.

  • Prescription Drug Plans (Part D)
Helps cover the cost of prescription medications.

  • Medicare Supplement (Medigap)
Helps cover certain out-of-pocket costs not paid by Original Medicare.

 Enrollment Periods

Medicare enrollment opportunities depend on timing and individual circumstances.

Common enrollment periods include:

  • Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)
  • Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)
  • Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs)

Eligibility and timing vary. We can help explain when and how changes may be available based on your situation.

Coverage options, benefits, and availability vary by plan and location.

Local Agent

Why Work With a Local Medicare Agent?

Health insurance — especially Medicare — is complex. Having someone local in your corner can reduce confusion and stress.

When you work with a local agent:

  • You have someone in your community you can reach out to
  • You receive guidance tailored to your needs
  • You’re not relying on a call center or scripted responses
  • You have support before and after enrollment

                        Personal guidance makes a difference.
